Embarc Architectural Design Brand Refresh

Founded in 2011, Embarc has since become a prominent voice in Boston’s architectural landscape. Their pragmatic and collaborative approach to projects have helped them grow and increase their visibility around the region.

We worked with Founder Dartagnan Brown and Embarc team members to establish a brand strategy centered around a newly established mission, “Confidence to begin, Maturity to Maneuver, and Diligence to Execute.” The identity direction set forth was to establish an identity that lets projects shine, while still retaining a sense of self. This sense of self is conveyed through the use of a differentiated pop of color, one that stands out among architecture firms.

The new identity features a bespoke wordmark that is friendly and approachable while remaining confident and bold. The expressive typography strikes a balance between the the hard right angles of the E and the roundness of the C, creating an intriguing tension and rhythm. Overall the identity is well-considered and not over-drawn; establishing a strong basis from which to build into the future.
