The Story

Developed in the 1890s along the Charles River in Brighton, The Charles River Speedway was originally a mile-long horse and bicycle racecourse.

Over 100 years later, The Speedway stables and administrative buildings have been revitalized by Architectural Heritage Foundation (AHF) and Bruner Cott Architects as a community marketplace featuring shops, bars, restaurants, and a Notch Brewing courtyard biergarten.

CARRYING THE TORCH

Steeped in nostalgia and historic character, the Speedway’s identity takes cues not just from a single point in time, but a rich chronicle of the past.

HISTORY DRIVEN FORWARD

Gritty halftone imagery honoring the Speedway’s heritage is layered with vibrant colors and clean typography.
